Rules & Regulations

All students of the college shall be bound by the rules and regulations of the college.

Be clean and decorous in dress, language and behaviour.
Be regular and punctual in attending the college.
Students are expected to remain in standing posture in the campus during the time of the prayer song, observing complete silence at the stroke of the bell. They shall keep silence in the campus during working hours.
When a teacher or visitor enters your class, you should rise and remain standing till he takes his seat or desires you to resume yours.
Do not enter or leave a class in session, without permission
Students who are free during any period should remain in the classroom or reading room and utilize the time profitably
Do not disfigure the walls, desks or bunches with writings or engravings of any description whatsoever and do not tamper with or damage fittings, articles of furniture or library books.

Prior permission of the Principal is necessary
(i) For organizing special meetings, entertainments or social functions.
(ii)For inviting persons who are not members of the teaching staff of the college for any function in the college.
(iii) For collection and subscription of any kind from the members of the college.
(iv)For distribution or display of literature of any kind
Any student suspended from the college is not allowed to enter the college or its premises during the period of suspension
Do not make complaints or submit petitions in a body.
Bursting of crackers inside the campus is strictly prohibited
Outsiders are strictly prohibited to meet the students inside the campus without the permission of the Principal
Any damage done to the college property will have to be compensated
Use of mobile phone is strictly prohibited in the campus and inside the classrooms.
Ragging is prohibited by law. Students shall not indulge in such activities.
Any question not covered by the above rules will be decided by the Principal.

Attendance and leave of absence
Attendance shall be marked at the beginning of each class by the teacher engaging the class. Students should not leave the classroom nor should late-comers enter the classroom without permission of the concerned teacher.
For the purpose of attendance, all working days shall be counted as whole days irrespective of the number of working hours.
No student shall absent himself from the class without leave. Absence without leave of part of a section shall be considered as absence for half a day.
Application for leave in the prescribed form must be forwarded to the Principal through the teacher – in- charge (Tutor)
Students absenting themselves without leave for more than 10 working days will have their names removed from the rolls. They may be readmitted at the discretion of the Principal in which case they will have to pay the readmission fee Rs. 50 and all the college fees due before they are readmitted.
The minimum attendance prescribed by the University is 75%. Those who do not earn the required attendance are not qualified to appear for the examination.
Duty leave for Physical education/NSS activities will be granted only on the recommendation of the teachers concerned. The duly recommended leave applications should be forwarded to the Principal not later than one week after the event.

Disciplinary action including infliction of fine will be taken against those who are repeatedly absent on insufficient grounds.

Fee concessions and Scholarships
Unified Fee Concession
Students who secure 45% and more marks at the respective of qualifying examination and pass at the first appearance are eligible for unified fee concession. The annual income their parents should not exceed Rs. 3000/- for degree course. Renewal of applications are to be send at the beginning of the course every year.
Fee concession to forward community students
As per Kumara Pillai Commission Report, forward community students are also eligible for educational concession from the Harijan Welfare Department provided the annual income from all sources of their parents does not exceed Rs. 25000/- in the case of degree classes and Rs. 42000/- in the case of PG classes.
Lumpsum Grant & Monthly Stipend
Lumpsum Grant and Monthly Stipend will be issued to the backward class students (SC,ST, OEC,XC) through college office. All students belonging to this category must submit their application at the beginning of the course.

National Merit Scholarship
Students who have secured 522 or more marks for S.S.L.C examination can apply for this scholarship.
Kerala State Merit Scholarship
Students with more than 50% marks for the qualifying examination can apply for this. This scholarship can be held together with any other scholarship which shall not exceed half of the amount . The students have to maintain 50% marks every year.
Muslim/Nadar Girls students scholarship
The girl students in these communities whose annual income does not exceed Rs. 18000/- are eligible for the scholarship. Amount is Rs. 3000/- yearly for U.G & Rs. 4000/- yearly for P.G.
Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship
Students from B.P. L family who have secured 60% marks can apply. Scholarship amount is Rs. 10000/- yearly.
Central Sector Scholarship
Students also have secured 80% of marks and whose annual income is below Rs. 4, 50,000/- can apply. Scholarship amount is Rs. 10000/- yearly.
Post metric Scholarship
First year Christian, Muslims students with 50% marks and whose annual income is below 2 lakhs can apply. Scholarship amount is Rs. 3000/-
Labour Welfarre Fund Scholarship
The children of labourers who are contributors to Labour Welfare Fund are eligible for the award of this scholarship.
Scholarship for Blind/ Physically handicapped students. The blind/physically handicapped students with 40% marks in the qualifying examination are eligible. The annual family income should not exceed Rs. 25,000/-. Scholarship amount Rs. 5000/- yearly.
Sports Scholarship
Sports scholarships are awarded to selected sports men and women studying in colleges under M.G. University.
University Merit Scholarship
Students also have 60% or more marks for the qualifying examination are offered scholarship for the duration of the course. The amount is Rs. 600/- per year for 2 years for the plus two courses and Rs. 900/- per year for B.A/B.Sc, B.Com courses. This cannot be held with any other scholarship.

Study Tour – Study tours conducted by the college are part of the academic programme . The following instructions should be followed by the students with regard to study tours.
Study Tours are conducted only with the prior permission of the Principal.
Class teachers or other teachers deputed by the Principal should accompany the students.
Any act of indiscipline while on tour shall be considered as an act of indiscipline committed in the college campus.

Conduct and Transfer Certificate

Conduct and transfer certificates shall be issued after the completion of the course. No T.C will be issued to those from whom there are any dues to the college.
Every student should take his/her T.C at the end of his/her course and produce it when he/she admitted to the next course. No student shall be admitted to the college unless he present a proper T.C from the institution where he/she has previously studied.
