Admission

Since the college is affiliated to M.G. University the admission producers are strictly in accordance with the guidelines issued by the University. Cut off percentage for admission to UG and PG courses is 35% and 45% respectively. There is relaxation in eligibility for SC/ST candidates.


Seats are allotted in the following proportion
General Merit – 40%
Community – 20%
SC/ST – 20%
Management – 20%


If enough applications are not received for SC/ST seats, the matter will be notified in newspapers. All measures are taken to ensure that the seats reserved for SC/ST are given only to students belonging to such categories. On receiving directions from the University eligible OEC candidates are considered.

Application forms are available in the college office. The filled in applications received are thoroughly checked before preparing the merit list. The merit list, list of different categories like SC/ST, community and management seats are published on the college notice board on the date specified by the University. Applicants numbering three times of the sanctioned seats are called for the interview. Interview is conducted on the date prescribed by the University.

Eligibility and Procedure


I. Under Graduate Programmes


B.Sc Physics
Admission to B.Sc Physics programme shall be open only to candidates who passed the Plus Two or equivalent examination accepted by the Mahatma Gandhi University with Physics as one of the optional subjects at Plus Two level.

b. Bachelor in Travel & Tourism Management (B.T.T.M)

Admission to B.T.T.M. programme shall be open only to candidates who passed the Plus Two or equivalent examination accepted by the Mahatma Gandhi University either Science or Commerce at Plus Two level.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
A pass in Plus Two or equivalent examination or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Mahatma Gandhi University. Admission is through Centralized Allotment Process (CAP), M.G. University CAP 2016 (www.mgu.ac.in)

Bachelor of Commerce with Computer Applications (B.Com)
Admission to the B.Com Degree programme shall be open only to candidates who have passed the Plus Two or equivalent examination recognized by the Mahatma Gandhi University with Book-Keeping and Accountancy and any two of the following subjects, viz., (1) Commerce (2) Commercial Correspondence and Commercial Geography (3) Economics (4) Life Insurance with Salesmanship (5) Banking with Secretarial Practice (6) Business Studies (7) Mathematics (8) Computer Science/Computer Applications (9) Informatics Practice & Management (10) Informatics Practice (11) Management (12) Accountancy as optional under Part III of the examination.
OR
Have passed Plus Two or equivalent examination recognized by the Mahatma Gandhi University with other subjects under Part III optional subjects provided they have secured 45% of the aggregate marks.

Post Graduate Programme


M.Sc Biotechnology
A candidate seeking admission to M.Sc Biotechnology must have graduation in Biological sciences viz, Zoology, Botany, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biophysics, Biological Techniques & Specimen preparation, Chemistry or MLT with not less than CGPA of 2.00 out of 4 in the Core Group (Core + Open + Complimentary). Weightage of 10% of marks scored by the candidate in Part III (Core/Main) shall be added to the total of Part III subjects for those candidates who have taken subjects which come under Biological Sciences viz., Zoology, Botany, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology and Biophysics.

Application forms for community (Ezhava) and management seats will be issued from the college office during working hours soon after the publication of the results of the qualifying examination of the respective course. 29th June 2016 is the last date of issuing/ receiving application for management and community seats.
General Rules
A student seeking admission to the college should apply for a copy of the prospects and application form by remitting Rs. 50/-. The application form duly filled in may be sent to the Principal.
1 An applicant, when called for an interview should be accompanied by his/her parent/guardian. It admission is granted after the interview, the applicant should get himself/herself enrolled forthwith paying the required fees. Fee once paid will not be refunded.
At the time of interview the following documents should be produced:

Interview card
S.S.L.C. Book
Plus two/ Degree Mark list
Transfer Certificate
Course and Conduct Certificate
Income and community certificate in the case of OBC students eligible for fee concession.
Community certificate from the Tahasildar in the case of ST,SC and OEC students.

For fee concession income of family shall not exceed Rs. 100000 per annum for Degree/Rs. 42000 per annum for PG classes.
A student admitted to the college from any University other than M.G. University must produce Migration Certificate from that university. He/She should get his/her qualifying examination recognized by M.G. University and also should get himself/herself registered as a matriculate of M.G. University immediately after admission.
Admission can be denied to any candidate by the Principal in the interest of the college without assigning any reason.

NB:
Applicants are advised to keep with them true copies of their certificates before they surrender the original certificates at the college office.
